Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the influence of the cooling rate on the resulting notch toughness of flat rolled coils. In the theoretical part, the methods of rolling belts and sheets are described. Subsequently, the influence of individual thermo-mechanical parameters on the structure of metals is described. Mechanical material tests are also described. The practical part is focused on the description of Bohumín rolling lines and the experiment itself, when narrow strips of different thickness were rolled. Subsequently, the rate of cooling of the samples to the notchability was monitored. In the end, the effects of the individual cooling modes on the toughness values are presented.
