Abstract

Diploma thesis deals with the potential attack on a water treatment plant for approximately 105 000 inhabitants. The introduction describes the legal framework for the protection of drinking water and the theoretical foundations of the security of persons and property. Another part describes the distribution of drinking water, water treatment and potential agents useful in the attack treatment plants. Through analysis CARVER is the identification of potential target of attack between the raw water source and treatment plant and then again by analyzing CARVER a cause and effect diagrams, identification of a specific part of the source and treatment plant, which would be an attack could relate to. Based on the results of these analyzes are then discussed security sources, water treatment and highlighted weaknesses. In conclusion, the proposed measures to improve security and the analysis of fault tree analysis selected the best proposal.
