Abstract

KOTEŠOVEC, Adam. Railway crossings and possibilities to increase of their security level. Ostrava 2020. Bachelor thesis. VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Safety Engineering. The supervisor of the thesis Ing. Vladimíra Pospíšil, Ph.D. The bachelor thesis deals with development and type of security of railway crossings in the Czech Republic. Technical and construction parts based on technical standards are described. The following section deals with the development of accidents at railway crossings including number of people injured or killed. The next part of the bachelor thesis presents accident statistics with comparison between member states of the European Union during the year 2018. The penultimate part compares the security at railway crossings with Great Britain and the Russian Federation. Finally, the technical condition of the selected railway crossing in the Czech Republic is described and a proposal to increase of the safety level is submitted.
