This thesis, which name is „Family house in Ostrava - The House of Light and Darkness“ aims to desing a new building - a family house in Ostrava. The house is designed to be used by a family consisting of four members. It is situated in the city quarter of Slezská Ostrava. This location is used for costruction of residential buildings. The access road and the entry is located at the northern part of grounds. This building respects the street line. The form of this house is a block. The House of Light and Darkness is divided into two zones by the floors. The groud floor could be characterized by opened living space and the second floor consists of bedrooms. For parking, there is designed a carport for two parking places. The realization is executed by a combination of the Porotherm system and reinforced concrete constructions.
