Abstract

The aim of this thesis, based on the theme “Using Power Lines for Telecommunications Signal Transmission”, is to acquaint the reader with the history of this issue. This paper introduces the people who contributed to the foundation of electricity networks and to the historical development of electrification at home and throughout the world. The paper outlines the advantages of using the electrification already built, which is omnipresent nowadays, and highlights the introduction of new transmission technologies for greater efficiency. It also discusses the possible difficulties that arise when using complex technologies and the transmission parameters of electricity lines, which must be taken into account for the proper function of signal transmission over power lines. The work also covers the current technological situation in the Czech Republic and abroad.
