Český granát - symbol České země

Abstract

This work is regarding our national wealth of Bohemian garnet. It describes methods of extraction and use of garnet and looks at how the mining process has developed over the years along with the processing and use of the garnet. It also explores the various uses of garnet, including tourism around garnet sites and the natural beauty of the „Českého středohoří“ with it´s varied landscape. It evaluates the degree of public knowledge of Czech garnet and finally, tries to show how better information regarding this rock can be made available to the schema_dspacedb. In exploring the possibilities for touristic development in areas rich in Bohemian garnets, it should assist in maintaining our national symbols, traditions and tourism in the Czech republic.
