Abstract
The corrosion protection of magnets in practice means a significant increase of life and hence the usefulness of their use. This thesis deals with characteristics of permanent magnets primarily on Nd-Fe-B base and their resistance to corrosion through a galvanic coating of zinc and nickel. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with composition, structure and properties of these magnets. Furthermore deals with corrosive properties, especially the electrochemical corrosion and suitable anticorrosion protection of magnetic materials mentioned. Experimental part of the thesis is focused on properties of the galvanic protective coating of zinc and nickel on Nd-Fe-B type magnets. The structure of magnets and protective properties of coatings (mainly thickness) were tested. Potentiodynamic polarization measurements and salt spray test were also performed for comparison of corrosion properties of coatings.
