Abstract

The main topic of this bachelor thesis is the life of miners in our country from the modern period to the present, especially mining songs and events reflected in their lyrics. The first part is devoted to the mining folklore, traditions and the interconnection of artworks and mining themes. The second part deals with the mining songs, poems and rhymes themselves that have both an artistic and informative value. The last part is dedicated to the cultural and related social differences among miners in the Czech republic at different time periods of our history, including the miners‘ status in the contemporary society. The last part concerns also the mining organizations thanks to which the mining tradions remain in the general public’s awarness up to this day.
