Abstract

This thesis describes the design of a computer network for the headquarters of Alvian MOST. The first part describes the theoretical basis of computer networks, which is essential to an understanding of the issues involved. The second, practical part contains an analysis of Alvian MOST’s current status and needs, which dictate the requirements of the actual implementation. There then follows a proposal for a suitable computer network solution, including a gross estimate of the associated costs.
