Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis analyzes the approach of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic to flood management in 1997 and 2024. The theoretical part of the thesis defines basic concepts related to floods, crisis management, and the Integrated Rescue System. The practical part is presented in the form of a case study and is based on qualitative research, specifically semi-structured interviews with selected experts from the field. Based on the obtained data, the main differences between the examined periods are described, and possibilities for further improvement in the areas of preparedness and emergency management are outlined.
