Využití strukturálních fondů EU v rozvoji města Krnova

Abstract

Despite the fact, that European union is one of the most richest integrations in the world, there are big significant differences between member states. The EU has begun to solve these disparities by regional policy which is based on the transfer of funds from rich to poor countries. The main objective is to reduce very large differences in the level of individual Member States and regions. One of the main financial instruments of the current programming period 2007 – 2013, which help to achieve the set objektive, are EU Structural Funds and Cohesion fund. These resources the EU spends for the development the least developed regions. Grants from the EU regional policy has gained also the town of Krnov, which focuses primarily on projects in cross-border cooperation, as well as the environment, water and cycling infrastructure and human resources. The support from the both Structural Funds and Cohesion fund reaches nearly 85 % of eligible costs for all these projects. Another financial resources are the state budget and the budget of town of Krnov. Drawing financial resources from EU funds by Krnov is succesful. Krnov has the opportunity to realize expensive projects, which would not be possible without these grants. And thanks to these projects Krnov can be developed.
