This bachelor thesis deals with the possible misuse of a 3D printer, to violate object security in the form of an apartment lock. The theoretical part provides an introduction to the 3D printing, including the history of 3D printers and what 3D printing technologies are applied in today´s world. The thesis also focuses on the materials that are used in 3D printing and the affordability of 3D printers today. In the practical part of the thesis, an experiment is conducted in which a 3D key is printed, which is inspired by apartment key.
