The diploma thesis deals with the security of the use of 3D printing technology for the production of weapons, describes the characteristics of 3D printing, types of technologies, 3D printers, the printing process and printing conditions. Further assess the possibility of misuse of 3D printing for illegal production of short firearms. The work also includes evaluation of a working prototype of a firearm freely available 3D model and its shooting and detection tests.
