Vliv povodňových průtoků na mosty na pozemních komunikacích

Abstract

Presented thesis deals with influence of flood flows upon road bridges, which is up-to-date and important topic. Solution is limited to two areas in the Czech Republic hit by recent floods, in this thesis they are labeled as oblast Jižních Čech (South Bohemia area) and oblast Jeseníků (Jeseníky area). I selected the areas of interest considering existing and comprehensive data about bridges and their failures during floods in 1997 and 2002, and also considering influence of water reservoirs on observed water courses upon flood flows. Since there were no highways present in the areas of interest only bridges on 1st, 2nd a 3rd class roads over water courses and inundation areas were subjects ofthe analyses,. of the thesis is to determine, whether commonly used characteristics of the bridges, water courses or watersheds are related to main cause of damage done by flood flows to bridges - scouring. Relationships to the causes are determined on the basis of the effects. Elaboration is based on data analyse s in Geographic Information System and the outcomes were further evaluated by statistical methods. The solution is intended for further research in the field of bridge constructions and is suitable to be taken into consideration in national standard s to ensure safer design of the road bridge s and water courses crossings.
