Abstract

The main aim of the diploma thesis is an analysis of boundary condition setting of the continuous casting machine of steel, especially with respect to the liquidus temperature of the selected steel grade 18CrNiMo7-6. The theoretical part includes the characteristic of steel production by the continuous casting, a description of the continuous casting machine, the main parts of CCM and the continuous cast steel defects. Furthermore, there are principles for setting of the boundary conditions of the continuous casting machine of steel. Based on the expected temperature field along the casting strand and with respect of the cast format and chemical composition of steel, there is a few recommendations of calculation of cooling intensity and of the casting speed. A separate subchapter is devoted to the setting of the casting speed, to the determination of the shell thickness, to the effect of the chemical composition of the steel on the temperature field or the casting temperature for the continuous casting of steel. The experimental part deals with determination of thermodynamic properties, where the main attention is devoted in particular to the determination of the liquidus temperature, resp. of casting temperatures and to compilation of a regression equation for calculation of the liquidus temperature of the selected steel grade.
