Proměna území v Ostravě v centrální městskou strukturu (vymezenou ulicemi Střední, Jurečkovou a Poděbradovou)

Abstract

Území řešené v rámci diplomové práce se nachází v bezprostřední blízkosti historického centra Moravské Ostravy. Navzdory svému lukrativnímu umístění je však v současné době nedostatečně městsky využito a neuplatňuje tak plně svůj potenciál. Těžiště tohoto místa představuje Galerie výtvarného umění v Ostravě, jež se řadí mezi skvosty moderní ostravské architektury. Samotná budova však již nesplňuje nároky na galerii 21. století kladené, kapacity výstavních ploch i zázemí pro činnost instituce jsou nedostačující. Projekt řeší danou problematiku ve dvou úrovních. Rámcově navrhuje rozšíření městských funkcí dané lokality o složky bydlení, komerce, administrativy, služeb, kultury a rekreace, a tím podporuje maximální využití a rozmanitost tohoto velmi cenného území. V druhé fázi se zabývá detailním návrhem dostavby Domu umění a oživením přilehlých veřejných prostor včetně sousedícího parku. Výsledkem je rozmanitá, ucelená a živoucí centrální městská struktura.

The subject area of the Diploma thesis is situated near the historical centre of Moravská Ostrava. Despite of its lucrative placing, this locality can not fully provide its urban function and express its real potential. The heart of this part of the city represents the “House of Fine Art”, which is one of modern architectural gems of Ostrava. However the building completed in 1926 can not nowadays fully meet the demands placed on the gallery of the 21. century; especially due to limited exhibition areas and insufficient supporting background. The diploma thesis solves the issue at two different levels. It presents a general project, which supplement the existing urban functions of the area with new facilities for housing, commerce, administration, services, culture and recreation to maximize variety and utilisation of this worth locality. The second part of the work is devoted to detailed design of the completion of the construction of the “House of Fine Art” and to the revitalisation of the adjacent public areas including the park in the neighbourhood. The study provides a comprehensive solution of a varied, and living urban structure in the central part of Ostrava.
