Srovnání vybraných ukazatelů mužského a ženského florbalu v ČR

Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with a comparison of selected indicators of men’s and women’s floorball in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to analyse and compare selected indicators of both categories and to identify the areas in which men’s and women’s floorball differ. The theoretical part focuses on the basic concepts related to sport, sports management, sponsorship in sport, and floorball. It also defines the position of Czech floorball, addresses the issue of gender differences in sport, and characterises the methods used in the thesis, namely document analysis, secondary data analysis, and descriptive statistics. The practical part focuses on the analysis and comparison of selected indicators, particularly the number of registered and active players, the number of teams, sports performance, attendance, media coverage, and sponsorship. The data are obtained mainly from available secondary sources and from internal data provided by a representative of Czech Floorball. The results show that the most significant differences between men’s and women’s floorball are mainly evident in quantitative and structural indicators. Despite having a smaller membership and competition base, women’s floorball achieves high-quality sporting results and shows potential for further development. The thesis also highlights the importance of supporting women’s floorball and the need to increase its visibility within the Czech sports environment.
