Abstract
The goal of this diploma thesis is to increase the energy self-sufficiency of a residential house with the use of its surrounding energy. From a local perspective the point is to lower the amount of energy used from the public utility network and therefore lower the utility bill. From a global perspective the goal is to lower the production of greenhouse gasses which can be achieved by eliminating fossil fuel furnaces in households and by lowering the production of electric energy in coal power plants. Lowering the demand for electric energy can lead to decreasing the share these power plants have in electricity production.
Such systems, using the surrounding energy, are used in a family house, for example solar panels, drilled wells and heat recovery units. These systems are controlled by a central system and the user is able to monitor and control them using Reliance system.
