Abstract
This bachelor thesis aims to introduce the reader to precious stones in jewellery across historical periods to the present days. It is divided into several parts. Part one deals with a general description of gemstone sites in the Czech Republic. The second part is devoted to the use of gemstones in history, followed by a chapter that introduces gemstones in contemporary domestic jewellery. The last chapter consists of a three-day thematic excursion.
