Abstract

The thesis is focused to the performance optimization of databases specifically DBMS Oracle and PostgreSql. Emphasis is placed to DBMS Oracle. In the thesis there is the description of the processes how we can capture a data traffic on product database, its analysis, its startup,its testing changes for all DBMS. The thesis includes comparison of optimization both DBMS. There is many general recommendations for the technique eliminations performance problems in this thesis. There are included descriptions of available data structures for OLTP in both DBMS. Thesis is divided to three parts. First part is created by general description of different possibilities for each DBMS. In second part, we can found performance optimizations of Oracle DBMS. Third part includes performance optimizations of PostgreSQL DBMS.
