Abstract

The aim of this work to study the species Tetrao urogallus, its biology, ecology and conservation in the Czech Republic in the past and present and its occurrence in the Těšínské Beskydy Mountains. Tetrao urogallus include the critically engangered species and is protected vy law. The content was to determine the historical status of grouse in the Těšínské Beskydy Mounatins, the causes which led to a decrease in the number to the edge of extinction, including all funds for the rescue and subsequent release, adaptation and possibly natural reproduction in the wild. At present the natural environment found in large quantities only grouse in Šumava. A small potion of the population grouse is documented in the Beskid Mountains, whee it moves to the edge of survival. Can it not also attributed to the kennel in Poland, which is located near border with the Czech Republic, in the forests at an altitude of 750 a through the site in which it is located, is this kennel one of the most succesful in terms of breeding grouse and their reintroduction. Work has also focused on the current state of the territory Těšínské Beskydy Mountains.
