Vícekriteriální zhodnocení finanční výkonnosti státních muzeí

Abstract

The diploma thesis is focused on the evaluation of several criteria for museums established by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. A total of 13 museums are evaluated in the monitored period 2011-2021 in the following areas: financial, economic, technical, performance and own. The criteria include indicators for calculating the degree of self-sufficiency, employees per object, number of visitors per employee, comparison of admission prices, museum opening hours and more. The results show that, thanks to various phenomena affecting the economy, the results in 2021 did not change fundamentally compared to 2011. This is, for example, a stagnant number of visitors and the associated rising costs. The partial objective of the work deals with the financing of the entire chapter of the Ministry of Culture. It is addressed whether expenses are increasing exponentially even in absolute terms. Although expenses for this chapter are increasing, the results show that they are not increasing exponentially in relation to the State budget. The final results show that the museums are not comparable. The Museum of Puppet Cultures received the best overall rating, while the Moravian Regional Museum received the worst result. The points difference between these museums is more than double.
