Abstract
This thesis examines the assessment of noise pollution from road traffic based on experimental measurements conducted at a selected location. The theoretical section defines basic concepts in the field of acoustics, identifies road traffic as a significant source of noise pollution, and describes the physiological effects of noise and its other impacts on the human body. The theoretical section also includes an overview of current legislation governing noise protection. The practical section focuses on the design and implementation of A-weighted sound pressure level measurements at the given location. The measured data are processed and evaluated to assess the level of noise pollution and its relationship to traffic intensity. The results are interpreted with regard to health limits and the characteristics of the monitored location.
