Abstract
This thesis is talking about the rock-water interactions at the site Sninský kameň lokated in Vihorlat Mountains (Slovak Republic). It deals with weathering processes of primary rock (andesite) on the site. Based on the microskopic analysis, primary and secondary minerals were found in the rock. For groundwater from the first well, the chemical type of Ca – HCO3 predominates. Groundwater from the second well was classified as Ca – HCO3 – SO4. Inverse modelling was realized using the PHREEQC geochemical modeling program. The input file contains primary rock composition, chemical status of groundwater and rain water. The output file subsequently creates possible scenarios expressing different combinations of precipitation and dissolution of various minerals. The PHREEQC program also calculated the saturation indices of the minerals. The thesis also contains frame microsections with subsequent microscopic analysis, sampling of water and chemical analysis of groundwater and precipitation.
