Abstract
The subject of diploma thesis “Competitiveness of Companies” is practical application of financial analysis and model Balanced Scorecard to evaluation of the performance of three transport companies – ČSAD Frýdek-Místek, a. s., ČSAD Karviná, a. s. and ČSAD Havířov, a. s. I compare observed results, find their causes and suggest possible improvements. The theoretical part is focused on the importance, users, sources and main ratios of financial analysis. The theory of model BSC engages in individual perspectives. The next chapter introduces the companies, their history, current situation and business. The content of the analytical part is the application methods of financial analysis and model BSC on given companies. The analysis is performed for the period 2005 – 2009. Subsequently, there are summary and comparison of results and suggestion possible measures to improve situation.
