Abstract
This master’s thesis focuses on the use of augmented and virtual reality in the medical field for
spatial visualization of volumetric data from computed tomography (CT). The work investigates
both direct visualization method (volume rendering), which utilizes the original medical data for
rendering (typically DICOM), and indirect method using traditional models. The text portion of
the thesis consists of a theoretical section and a practical section, in which the software development
process is described. The project was created in collaboration with Fakultni nemocnice Ostrava,
and the software is primarily intended for their needs. It is expected that in the future, the software
will serve as an alternative option for displaying data from computed tomography in the hospital.
