Abstract
This thesis deals with breakage of glass panes in the window openings, building on their exposure to high temperatures. The first part describes the basic properties of glass important to predict when the glass breaks. It also deals with identifying the causes of glass cracking and related experiments. The last part of this thesis deals with the available programs for modeling fire where the zone model BRANZFIRE is described and implemented program BREAK1.
