Studium vlastností polyethylenu jako palivové složky pro hybridní raketové motory.

Abstract

The bachelor’s thesis deals with the study of density and melting temperature of polyethylene (LDPE, MD LDPE, HDPE). Polyethylene can be used as an ingredient in paraffin fuels, which are utilized in hybrid rocket engines. The theoretical part focuses on the description of thremal analysis methods and a basic characterization of hybrid rocket engine. An overwiew of the basic types of solid fuels and oxidizers used in hybrid rocket engines is also provided. The experimental part deals with determination of densities and melting points of polyethylene samples. The stability of the samples during thermal analysis and the effect of heating rate on melting points sre also studied. The obtained data are compared with information from literary sources. The results are summarized in the conclusion of the work.
