Abstract

Portal objects are a sensitive part of each tunnel. For the correct positioning of the portals, we have to take the geotechnical and engineering geological survey, which also serves for the correct design of the building hole. So that building holes can serve to the reliable construction of an underground building, we have to choose a suitable stabilization structure, which will provide construction hole not only during construction. We must not forget for draining of every building hole. Stabilization of the portal hole can be solved by usage of plowed pits, sloped pits or, as in this case, a combination of both types. Two variants of Stability Building and Portal Pit solution have been made for the demonstration. For these variants, slope stability was assessed using the GEO5 program.
