Abstract
This thesis deals with the sales forecasts of drinking water and wastewater. The theoretical part describes the fundamental theoretical aspects of financial planning, with attention being devoted to the sales plan in the entire system of financial planning. The practical part is focused on the characteristics of the company, the current state of financial planning within the company and also on determining the size of the sales forecasts of drinking water and wastewater, using the mathematical and statistical forecasting method, based on time series analysis. Based on the extrapolation of the linear trend line, the point and interval forecast of sales volume of potable water and sewage was calculated. The predictive quality model applied trend rate was verified by the Thiel’s coefficient mismatch. The contribution is not only to determine the actual size of the sales forecasts of drinking water and wastewater for the upcoming season, but also the application of appropriate statistical methods that will be useful in practice for OVAK a.s. company and will be an opportunity to build a more accurate prediction, that will lead to low deviation from reality. Mathematical - Statistical methods replace the currently used method of expert estimation.
