Abstract

Title of the Diploma Thesis: “Contamination of underground waters in the Lower Part of VÍTKOVICE, a.s.”

The objective of my Diploma Thesis is the study of contamination in the area of the Slag Heap in Hrabůvka and the Settling Reservoirs in Kunčičky, which make parts of the extensive area of Lower Part of VÍTKOVICE, a.s. I deal with the mapping of the environment contamination and focus on the contamination of underground waters. The knowledge about the contaminated environment is important not only for the current use, but also for any future utilisation of the above-mentioned areas. Any new utilisation of the Slag Heap in Hrabůvka closely relates to the implementation of recovery work provisions ordered by ČIŽP OI Ostrava in 2005. The future use of settlement reservoirs in Kunčičky also depends on the implementation of such recovery work provisions. This Diploma Thesis presents processed data of geological and hydro-geological characters originating in final monitoring reports and risk analyses, but also the data gained by my own research work done in the localities. The processed materials show that the area contamination is extensive and complex requiring thus further monitoring and the recovery works in this area.
