Abstract

My thesis covers the impact of temperature on optical connectors. Closely analyzing fiber optics and optical connectors, their features and losses, which are arising. There are high demands put on the connectors, with respect to pureness, quality, mechanical performance and type of grinding. It is the connectors which are most affected by the negative impacts of temperature, humidity, contamination etc. This project focuses on how the temperature affects reflection losses on chosen optical connectors.
