E-shop framework

Abstract

This master thesis describes features of non-relational databases, their advantages and disadvantages compare to traditional relational databases. It focuses specifically at document oriented non-relational database system MongoDB. Thesis also informs reader about current features, standards and existing solutions of electronic shops. One of the main goals of master thesis is to design e-commerce solution using Ruby on Rails framework with MongoDB database system and create sample implementation.
