Abstract
The thesis evaluates the fulfilling of the Millennium Development Goals in India. The aim of the Millennium Development Goals was to eradicate poverty by 2015 as well as problems related to it, including ensure the right to live the valuable life to all people. The aim of this thesis is to describe the theory of poverty, characterize the socio-economic environment of India and evaluate success of fulfilling of the Millennium Development Goals in India and point on social inequality between individual Indian states and union territories on the basis of selected indicators of Millennium Development Goals.
