Abstract

The aim of this thesis is calculation of prearcing characteristic of fuse-links with blade contacts by finite element method (FEM). Inside are explained: principle of fuses, describe influence in electrical circuit, advantages and disadvantages, basic design of fuses and describe steps inside fuses during short circuit and over current. Measurement of materials properties of silica send and measurement of warming of fuse with main current were made before this calculation. Solution of numerical model was calculated prearcing characteristic selected fuse and evaluated results.
