Abstract

This thesis entitled "Financing of the American TV and Radio Station, the Voice of America, in Comparison with the Czech Public Radio Station, the Czech Radio" provides a comprehensive review and analysis of the similarities and differences of the history, structure and financing of the two organizations. Throughout the chapters, I describe and make comparisons between the particularities of each institution. I analyze only those operational features that exhibit similar patterns of economic behavior while taking into account the national specifics of both institutions. The collected data is recorded and described in a table format located in the conclusion. Moreover, I dedicate a separate chapter to the treatment of this topic in the media. I include an article, interview and questionnaire to present my view on the work of the VOA staff.
