Abstract

This bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of current quality requirements for iron ore materials, including a general description of the production process of liquid hot metal in a blast furnace. The next part of the work deals with the characteristics of the properties of the most used burden materials for blast furnaces (iron ore, agglomerate, and pellets, secondary products promoted in the blast furnace), either as a lump ore material or in the form of briquettes. The last part of the work is devoted to an overview of methods for evaluating burden iron ore materials, which are commonly used in metallurgical companies as a tool for verifying their quality.
