Abstract

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse the employee’s appraisal in two selected production plants, to compare both systems and subsequently to propose recommendations. The first part of the thesis explains the theoretical concepts such as human resources management, employee performance management, employee evaluation, description of individual methods used, evaluation interview and following result from the appraisal. In the second parts are Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech s.r.o. and ArcelorMittal Ostrava introduced, their history, plant in Czech Republic and analysis of employee structure. The practical part of the thesis describes and analyses the current appraisal for blue and white collars. Examples of appraisal for blue collar and his direct superior are presented. At the end of this section, appraisal methods are compared and suggestions for improvement are presented. It is a recommendation for Hyundai not to change existing frequency of appraisal and to focus on the approach of the evaluators. For ArcelorMittal, the recommendation is to introduce new distribution system, new bonus system and cut the evaluation time.
