Abstract

KLEINOVÁ, N. Fire safety of railway vehicles: Diploma thesis. Ostrava: VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of safety engineering, Department of Population Protection., 2026, 86p. This diploma thesis deals with the fire safety of railway vehicles and its practical application. The aim of this thesis is to define the requirements for the fire-technical characteristics of materials for individual categories of railway vehicles. The text is based on a review of domestic and international regulations, primarily the ČSN EN 45545 series, ČSN EN 50553, and Commission Regulation (EU) No 1302/2014. The thesis includes the categorization of railway vehicles and the determination of specific material requirements, which are illustrated by an example of practical fire safety assurance in passenger transport.
