Abstract
Alkali activated systems represent a group of materials, where the binder component is generally formed of a secondary raw material of technogenic origin, and as activators are usually used solutions of alkali metals. When optimal ratio of each raw material is used, high strength composites, that are also very resistant to various types of environment, are reached.
There are studies of the possibility of introducing alkali-activated composites into the construction practice, but the main obstacle is variability of the quality of outputs, depending on the way of preparation of the mixture, and also the use of corrosive substances.
The main objective of this work is to create a high-alkali activated composite based on the recipe of high-strength concrete. The work also includes the rewiev of alkali-activated systems, and also conditions of high-strength concrete preparation. Subsequently there are described principles of design of high performance concrete and alkali activation of composites containing portland cement binder.
The practical part of the work is focused on the behavior of the slag-cement composites of different ratios of cement to slag, and also the effect of different type of alkaline activators on the workability and strength parameters are investigated. The last part is dedicated to verifying the selected characteristics of the selected recipe of alkali activated composite.
