The Bachelor thesis is focused on current status of urban surveillance system and its effect on crime prevention in the town of Turany. The main objective of this thesis is to suggest an improvement of this urban surveillance system. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part there is introduced the characteristic of CCTV system and its components and the legislation concerning CCTV systems. The practical part is formed from description of the town of Turany together with its current status of urban surveillance system, statistics of unlawful activities and research of persons safety. In the practical part there is a safety analysis and in the end of there is an inovative design of urban surveillance system with its economic costs.
