Křižovatka Sokolovská-Slavíkova-Ježkova v Ostravě-Porubě

Abstract

The subject of the bachelor thesis "The intersection Sokolovska - Slavíkova - Ježkova" is to analyze the safety of this intersection in Ostrava - Poruba and suggest some measures to increase the traffic flow and safety. The first part of the thesis deals with traffic engineering and monitoring, and icludes a video analysis of conflict situations, from which the data of traffic intensity, structure of traffic flow, directional traffic flow control and conflict situations were obtained. The second part deals with the actual proposals to improve the flow and safety. This part includes a draft amendment of priority at the intersection, a proposal to install a roundabout instead of the existing transversal intersection, and subsequent capacity assessment of both proposals. The last part of the thesis includes intersection simulation models in the program PTV VISSIM.
