Abstract

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the management of construction and demolition (C&D) waste, focusing on its sorting, recycling, and utilization within the framework of the circular economy. The introductory part defines the concept of C&D waste and describes its generation. Next, the individual types of CDW are characterized in accordance with Decree No. 8/2021 Coll., the Waste Catalogue. The text further outlines strategic approaches to C&D waste management and analyzes the current state in line with the waste management hierarchy according to Directive 2008/98/ES. The thesis also includes an overview of the technological equipment of recycling centers and a brief summary of innovative technologies applied in the Czech Republic and other EU member states. The practical part focuses on the analysis of data provided by demolition companies with the aim of assessing the efficiency of C&D waste sorting and further utilization.
