Abstract
In this thesis the first part describes definitions of protection concepts, overcurrent protection, their distribution and principles of their functionality. The next part is the theoretical analysis of short-circuit currents. The following is a description of the switching station 22 kV Frýdek-Místek - Slezská, its current state, and reasons for modernization of this switching station.
Calculation of short-circuit currents for incoming and outgoing lines, including setting of overcurrent stages, short-circuit stages and overcurrent protection delay time. Finally, setting ground directional protection.
