Informační systém pro evidenci a účtování výpočetního času v prostředí HPC

Abstract

This master thesis focuses on data collecting of running jobs on computing nodes at National Supercomputing Center IT4Innovations in the Czech Republic. Collected data has to be presented by a new information system which should be delivered as a result of this thesis. This information system is supposed to replace the existing one, which can not be extended and maintained anymore. It is necessary to replace all existing processes, automate repetitive activities, and simplify administration of computing resources for the HPC Admin Team to decrease the workload. The thesis consists of two logical parts. The first part starts by describing the current information system and explaining advantages and disadvantages of the current solution. The development and deployment of the new system and approach are described then. The second part focuses on data collecting of running jobs at supercomputers. I have described overall process of job lifetime through and through, from the very beginning - user job submission, to the very end - job storing at the central database.
