Abstract
This thesis describes the design and realization of the device for measuring the quantity of liquid in the tank. The measured result is displayed on the display unit and then transmitted over a serial RS-232 link to the master device. The core of the thesis is an eight-bit microprocessor Atmel Mega8. Firmware that implements the complete functionality of the device, is written in C.
