Abstract

This diploma thesis analyzes the influence of boron on final crystallization of idefinite cast-iron (ICDP) with the aim to compare vaccinated nucleation of graphite cast iron on samples of experimental melts and used rollers. The first part of this thesis includes a theoretical framework that explains the concepts of vaccination, crystallization, modification and the effect of boron in cast-iron. The second practical part is describes the process of melting, sample processing, and the resulting structure of cast-iron. The conclusion of this thesis is presented as a comparison and evaluation of the effect of boron in cast-iron.
