Abstract
Main reason of this thesis is to propose magneto-optical methods currently used for the characterization of soft magnetic materials surface properties: amorphous and nanocrystalline ribbons, ultra-thin films and oriented transformer steels. The first method is the differential intensity method used for measuring surface hysteresis loops. The other method is the Kerr microscopy used for observing magnetic domains. Results are put in association with other surface sensitive methods - concretely CEMS (Conversion Electron Mössbauer Spectroscopy), XRD (X-Ray Diffraction) and ILEEMS (Integral Low-Energy Electron Mössbauer Spectroscopy).
