Abstract

This thesis is focused on the study of coupling conditions of quasi single-mode optical fiber made with the Department of Telecommunications Technical University of Ostrava with the Institute of Photonics and Electronics, Academy of Sciences. The work is split into four thematic sections. The first section describes the basic types of optical fibers, quasi single-mode fiber links and possibilities of light into optical fibers. It is also described in this section welding and measurement capabilities of optical fiber closer to the measurement of attenuation and optical beam. The second part evaluates the results of measurements of attenuation by the direct method 1c and indirect method OTDR. The third section describes how to build an experimental workplace for measuring different types of links quasi single-mode optic fibers. Also description of a reproducible method of measuring optical beam through the slit and the CCD camera. The last section evaluates and compares the results of the measurement apparatus using optical beam Beam profiler and CCD camera. The objective of this thesis is to choose from eleven quasi-single mode optical fibers those which are most adapted for use fiber into operation.
