Abstract
The bachelor thesis deals with the influence of the rolling temperature on the mechanical
properties and structure of plates during the normalization rolling of plate grades S355J2 + N.
Within the work, an experiment was performed to simulate the last phase of rolling from
a thickness of 80 mm to a final thickness of 40 mm at different finishing temperatures. The
observed parameters were yield strength, tensile strength and ductility according to the ČSN
EN 10025-2 standard. Furthermore, the hardness, microstructure, size of the ferritic grain and
the proportion of ferrite - perlite were evaluated. The main purpose of the work was to determine
the effect of rolling temperatures on the properties of thick plates, especially yield strength,
yield strength and ductility to ensure a sufficient reserve of these properties compared to the
above-mentioned standard in the production process at the four-high rolling mill 3,5m
in Vítkovice Steel, a.s.
